Developing and maintaining the Open Media Streaming Specification (OMSS) - an open standard that defines how streaming backends expose media sources through a unified API so any frontend can connect to any backend and also SDKs and libraries to help developers build compatible implementations!

What is OMSS?

OMSS standardizes the interface between streaming frontends and backends, enabling:

  • 🔄 Interoperability: Any OMSS frontend works with any OMSS backend
  • 🌐 Open Standard: Community-driven, vendor-neutral specification
