After constructing a complex entity using CSG operations, how can we make different surfaces of this entity have different optical behaviors (Refraction, reflection, scattering, or absorption)? #462

Hello

I've recently been trying to build a complex entity using raysect's CSG operations. I want to set different optical properties for different surfaces of the entity. How can I do this?

In Lighttools, when I create some primitives and use CSG to obtain a complex entity, different surfaces of the entity will exhibit different optical behaviors. An example is shown below:

Entity Primitive Surface Region Optical property

LensElement_25 LensElementPrimitive_2 FirstSurface BareSurface Transmitting
LensElement_25 LensElementPrimitive_2 SecondSurface BareSurface Transmitting
LensElement_25 LensElementPrimitive_2 EdgeSurface BareSurface Optical Absorber

Please give me some tips or guidance, thank you.
