Conversation
A heading that shares a function's name stays in the callers union, and the row says the edge is a link. mdsectioncheck passes. legendcoverage hit the 300-second runner timeout, and quality-delta has not been
… is a dot. find_symbol and find_referencing_symbols omitted the mark. A root of `.` stored `./docs/a.md`, so the lookup missed the file.
callers= and reaches= still count that row. A real call on the same pair stays unmarked.
…nk". The mark follows the reference. A code call on the same pair stays unmarked, and an unpinned link no longer clears a pinned one.
…r <via> is 2 for a direct link, and the do_work callers test has a real Python caller.
…impact JSON mark a direct markdown link, and a leading-slash link joins the crawl root.
…:: count stays under its limit. Re-pin the golden, the printf hashes, and the compact legend sizes for the via="link" rows.
Brings the branch up to date with main so CI can run on it. A merge, not a rebase, so the author's checkout keeps working. Conflicts, resolved to keep both sides: - kParserVer: renumbered again at merge to 206 (rich file tag 207), above every live number (main 196, train 31 198, lanes 202 and 204), with the quality.h mirror. kCacheVersion stays main's 36. - --path and MCP path_between: main moved the hop rows into one shared emitter (rw::emitPathHopRows in defattrib.h). The link and anchor marks now live there, so both transports keep via="link" and anchor="missing". The branch's separate MCP row loop is dropped, and both legends keep main's path-owner clause beside the link and anchor clauses. - --callers/--callees JSON and the impact legend: main's pattern_dispatch counts and legend are carried into the helpers this branch split out. - ImpactView keeps both seeds (this branch) and patternSites (main). - compactlegendcheck: both re-anchor notes are kept. …hemetrip The merge renumbered kParserVer (and quality.h's mirror) to 206, rich file tag 207, above every live number: main 196, train 31 198, and the branch reservations 202 and 204. The PR's own 185 is below main's 196, so it had to move. qschemetripcheck watches those lines; the only watched text that moved is the version, so the hash is re-pinned with a log line. kCacheVersion stays 36. The CHANGELOG versions note says 206 where it said 196. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Version 0.6.7 -> 0.6.8 in CMakeLists.txt; the CHANGELOG [Unreleased] section becomes [0.6.8] - 2026-10-19 with a fresh empty [Unreleased] above it, a summary (two grading methods, 0.6.5 -> 0.6.7 -> 0.6.8, credits) and entries for the changes whose lanes merged without one (--for stops when complete + soft --token-budget, the owner body, the startup git check, --pr-context #395, the dangling-reference fences). The closure/bridge "Fixed" entry, which fixed features that exist only in this release, is now an Added entry. The README gets the 0.6.8 release-notes paragraph, the "Latest" line and the Windows snippet version. No logic changes; kParserVer 198 / kCacheVersion 36 unchanged. …e, COMMANDS.md From build/ripwire at 24bcbf8 (the release commit, clean tree, 0.6.8): - docs/captures/COMMANDS_showcase_2026-10-19.md captured with test/showcase_capture.py (265 commands); its version sample reads ripwire 0.6.8 and it records the live legend dictionary (dictv=f1e98faa0aeaa1ee entries=902, unchanged). - docs/COMMANDS.md rebuilt from it (docs/docs_commands_build.py: 188 flags, 172 samples). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…lta no longer pairs that walk with the document-file mask.
… branch Ten files conflicted; none needed a design choice, only carrying main's new behaviour into the helpers this branch had extracted: - verbs_navigate.h: emitCallHierarchyAlt takes main's closure blocks (<in>, closures=) and the callees page next= / expand_next=; emitImpactLegend and ImpactView take main's <dc> rows (declined sites); --path keeps the shared emitPathHopRows (link and anchor marks) and gains main's bridge and near-sink rows. - mcpverbs.h: symbolQueryNextField now holds main's callees page next=; path_between gains the bridge and near-sink rows beside the link legend. - serialize.h: the pack hops sink keeps main's row cap and next= beside the branch's link bits. - langfacts.h: both columns (linkSections, noNestedNamedFunctions). - kParserVer stays 206 (rich 207), strictly above main's 198 (199); the versions note in the CHANGELOG now names main's 198. qschemetrip re-pinned. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The mark said a link named a heading the file does not have, but the slug function is ASCII-only and a file that is one heading line has its heading as the file node, so it also fired on headings that exist: a non-ASCII slug (#überblick, #概要), a percent-encoded one (#real%20heading, #%C3%BCberblick), GitHub's duplicate suffix (#dup-1 for a second ## Dup), and one.md#title for a file that is just `# Title`. Those keep the file edge and carry no mark. A plain ASCII slug that no heading has is still marked. Nine arms in test/mdsectioncheck.sh: six unmarked (each fails on 2254f8e) and three that keep the mark. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The merge took main's pin (kParserVer 198); this branch's watched text is 206 again, which hashes to the value the branch pinned before the merge. RE-PIN LOG line added. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
quality-delta paired mdSlugOutsideModel with naminglens' ncAllAscii loop; the test is one std::any_of over the two byte classes. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
CHANGELOG.md conflict: kept the release commit's relocated closure/bridge entry and applied main's reworded bridge bullet to it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…lsadi), kParserVer 206, dictv 908 CHANGELOG [0.6.8]: summary bullet and Thanks credit the markdown section links, the versions line states the live dictionary (dictv=30173b0aa2d06473 entries=908); README release-notes line replaces 'coming next'. …e capture, COMMANDS.md From build/ripwire at 9b86a58 (clean tree): docs/captures/COMMANDS_showcase_2026-10-19.md captured again with test/showcase_capture.py (265 commands; the --path bridge legend sentence moved and #414 adds the link legend text, dictv=30173b0aa2d06473 entries=908); docs/COMMANDS.md rebuilt from it (188 flags, 172 samples). 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winRead the edge kind in the JSON map rows instead of treating any nonzero byte as
via:"name".This change turns
outNameOnlyinto an edge-kind byte. It can holdkEdgeName,kEdgeLink, and the0x80anchor-missing bit. The XML writer now decodes it withedgeKindByte(writeMapCalleeRows, writeMapCalleeAttrs). The JSON map row still tests( *outNameOnly )[e] != 0. Every markdown link edge therefore reaches--jsonand MCP consumers as"via":"name", and its anchor-missing status is dropped. The XML for the same run saysvia="link"andanchor="missing". The two dialects then disagree about one edge. The JSON also labels a proven in-tree link as a name-only hedge.
writeMapInventoryJsonhas the same test at line 10618, so the<inv>entry callees diverge in the same way.🐛 Proposed fix (apply the same change at line 10618)

flattened Markdown-link edges are excluded before checking

identify Markdown links, while keeping scipEdgesPinned independent of Markdown
links.
- Around line 395-424: Update both name-gap reader loops to check
edgeKindByte(...) against kEdgeName instead of testing the raw outNameOnly byte
for zero. This ensures Markdown-link edges, including those marked with a
missing anchor, are excluded while preserving the existing remaining conditions.

contains a heading with inline markup that mdSlugOf cannot model, including
brackets, angle brackets, underscores, or asterisks. Update mdSlugProvablyAbsent
to return false for files with that flag set, so a slug miss is not classified
as a provably missing anchor.
Review comments at @src/serialize.h:

packHops so emitting a via="link" row is sufficient to emit
viaLinkLegendComment(), regardless of viaLegendInHead; keep the link-row check
unchanged.
- Around line 7065-7073: Update the names-only path around
`collectCalleeNameRow` to compute whether the current edge has a missing anchor
before collecting it, and pass that value as the `miss` mark so rows with
different anchor status remain distinct. Remove the subsequent
`applyCalleeAnchorMiss` call that mutates the collected row.

…rkup (CodeRabbit 4318131118) GitHub slugs the rendered heading text, mdSlugOf the raw source, so a link that names the rendered slug (see-docs for '## See [docs](x.md)', setup for '## _Setup_') missed every heading and was marked anchor="missing", a false claim of absence. A file with a heading that holds a link, an HTML tag or entity, or emphasis (a '_' not inside a word, '*') now keeps the file edge with no mark, like the other shapes mdSlugProvablyAbsent cannot judge. A plain missing slug, and a snake_case heading, still mark. mdsectioncheck: seven new arms. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…095) The two name-gap readers in pathgaps.h tested the raw Graph::outNameOnly byte against zero, which was the name-only test before the byte became an edge kind; a markdown link edge (kind 2) counted as a by-name call to a namesake, so near_sink wrote withheld=name:N (or a why=name row) for a link to a same-named heading. Both readers now test the kind byte against the name kind. mdsectioncheck arm: Start to b.md Install with a Caller linking d.md Install. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ey (CodeRabbit 4318131158) In --for hops and owner rows a good markdown link and a missing-anchor link that share a callee name merged into one row, and the later mark was applied to the merged row, so the good link's line read anchor="missing". The miss bit is now read before the row is collected and carried in CalleeRowMarks, as the signature path already does; the post-hoc marking branch of applyCalleeAnchorMiss is gone. mdsectioncheck arm: Hub links a.md#b (real) and b.md#nope (missing). Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…bit 4318131184) packBodies and packHops skipped the via="link" legend whenever the caller's head already defined via="name", although the head's clause covers the name reading only; a --for answer with a by-name hop and a markdown-link hop carried via="link" rows no legend defined, while appendOneCalleeCall had charged the bytes. The link legend now depends only on a via="link" row being written. mdsectioncheck arm: --for with a proven plus by-name run and a linking section, default and full legend. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
… name (CodeRabbit outside-diff comment on 5576874578, serialize.h:10873) Both JSON map writers tested the kind byte against zero, so every markdown link edge reached --json and MCP consumers as "via":"name" with its anchor-missing bit dropped, while the XML twin says via="link" anchor="missing". One shared writer (writeMapCalleeJsonKind) now decodes the byte for the map rows and the inventory entries. mdsectioncheck arm: --json on the missing-anchor fixture. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…abbit fixes src/graph.h grew by eight lines above the capture's rankGraphTeleport seed (10126 -> 10132 in the symbol, the --at seed re-derived by the capture script), and the corpus counts moved by the new symbols. Help text, legends and the --legend-dict figure (dictv=30173b0aa2d06473, entries=908) did not move. Regenerated with test/showcase_capture.py and docs/docs_commands_build.py on a clean build of eb54140. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
