Any progress regarding this? No commits in 7 months is... concerning.

MV3 release verification for 7.0.0 is complete:

  • Chrome and Edge build as Manifest V3 (chrome-mv3 / edge-mv3); Firefox remains Manifest V2 (firefox-mv2) with strict_min_version: 62.0.
  • Chromium manifests use a service worker, action, host_permissions, object-format web_accessible_resources, and minimum version 88.
  • The MV3 action API emulates the prior page-action behavior with global disable plus per-tab enable/disable; Firefox continues to use pageAction.
  • The Firefox build explicitly targets Firefox 62. A fresh scan of the built JavaScript found no optional-chaining or nullish operators (?., ??, ??=).

Fresh validation on the current nextrelease head passed: ESLint, Chrome/Edge/Firefox production builds, manifest smoke assertions, and Firefox web-ext lint (0 errors, 0 notices, 6 known warnings). The PR-attached checks are green.
