🌟 Overview

RelateX is an all-in-one database modeling and intelligence platform designed for database administrators, software architects, and backend engineers. It bridges the gap between raw SQL DDL and deep architectural understanding by providing instant multi-notation visual layouts, intelligent index performance analysis, query plan bottlenecks inspection, and multi-dialect schema conversions.

Whether you are designing a high-throughput microservice database, refactoring legacy schemas, or explaining complex query plans to teammates, RelateX gives you crystal-clear insights and actionable optimization recommendations powered by Google Gemini AI and deterministic fallback heuristics.

✨ Key Features

1. πŸ“ 5 Industry-Standard ERD Notations

Switch between 5 standard database modeling paradigms in a single click without re-parsing your schema:

  • Crow's Foot (Information Engineering): The industry standard with zero/one/many cardinality indicators (||, |{, 0{, 0|).
  • Peter Chen Notation: Classic conceptual modeling featuring rectangular Entities, diamond Relationships, and oval Attribute nodes.
  • UML Class Diagram / IDEF1X: Object-oriented data modeling with visibility modifiers, typed fields, and explicit multiplicity bounds (1..*, 0..1).
  • Bachman Data Structure Diagram: Network model representation with directionality vectors showing record-type ownership.
  • Star / Kimball Dimensional Schema: OLAP & Data Warehousing design with visual distinction between Fact Tables (KPIs, metrics) and Dimension Tables (hierarchies, attributes).

2. ⚑ AI Index & Performance Optimizer

  • Missing Index Detection: Pinpoints high-frequency lookup fields and missing Foreign Key composite indexes.
  • Query Bottleneck Diagnostics: Calculates cost estimations and identifies potential full table scan risks (Seq Scan / ALL).
  • Normalization vs. Denormalization Advice: Recommends Boyce-Codd (BCNF) / 3NF refactoring or controlled denormalization for read-heavy workloads.
  • Copy-to-Clipboard Migration DDL: Generates ready-to-run CREATE INDEX CONCURRENTLY and constraint scripts.

3. πŸ” Visual Query Plan Explainer

  • Paste complex SQL queries alongside your schema to receive node-by-node execution plans.
  • Inspect estimated execution costs, join mechanisms (Hash Join, Nested Loop, Merge Join), filter selectivity, and index scan operations.
  • Receive tailored recommendations to convert sequential table scans into lightning-fast index seeks.

4. πŸ€– Natural Language Schema Copilot

  • Conversational assistant for modifying your database model.
  • Ask: "Add an audit log table for user transactions", "Add soft deletes with deleted_at timestamp to all tables", or "Add a composite index on (tenant_id, created_at)".
  • Instantly previews DDL diffs and updates canvas nodes in real time.

5. πŸ”„ Multi-Dialect SQL Transpiler

Seamlessly convert schemas across 6 major relational database dialects:

  • PostgreSQL (with UUID, TIMESTAMPTZ, JSONB, and SERIAL)
  • MySQL / MariaDB (with AUTO_INCREMENT, ENGINE=InnoDB, utf8mb4)
  • SQLite (with lightweight types and AUTOINCREMENT)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) (with IDENTITY(1,1), DATETIME2, NVARCHAR)
  • Oracle Database (with NUMBER, VARCHAR2, RAW(16))
  • Snowflake SQL (with VARIANT, TIMESTAMP_NTZ, and cluster keys)

6. πŸ“Š Synthetic Realistic Mock Data Generator

  • Generates referentially-sound mock test datasets adhering to Foreign Key dependencies.
  • Output formatted as ready-to-execute INSERT INTO ... SQL scripts or structured JSON arrays.

7. πŸ“€ Universal Export Suite

Export your database architecture in any required format:

  • Vector SVG (Infinite zoom, ultra-sharp presentation graphics)
  • High-Resolution PNG (Raster image with alpha transparency)
  • Multi-Page Printable PDF (Includes schema breakdown, tables summary, and diagrams)
  • DBML (Database Markup Language for dbdocs and dbdiagram.io)
  • Prisma Schema (schema.prisma definitions for Node.js / TypeScript backends)
  • Mermaid.js ERD (Markdown-embeddable diagram code)
  • PlantUML (.puml format for enterprise documentation)
  • Formatted SQL DDL (Standardized SQL DDL definition)
