The optimization history (chart, per-attempt CSV and plot script) is done: its summary table and the list of what made training faster stay in the benchmarks README, the rest is in git history. The .gitignore was GitHub's 213-line Python template. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_015Xm62qoeaTunFSU5GYCQ1f

Overview
Retires the per-iteration step-time chart workflow now that optimization history is frozen: removes
benchmarks/plot.py,benchmarks/step_time.csv, and the README image/plot instructions. The benchmarks README keeps the HF vs. Megatron-Bridge table and “what made it faster” narrative; reproduction is a singletorchruncommand, with the old HF harness and full attempt log pointed at git history (bc057a5).Drops
matplotlibfrom optional dev dependencies inpyproject.tomlsince nothing in-repo plots benchmarks anymore.Replaces the stock 213-line Python
.gitignorewith a short repo-specific list (core Python artifacts,output//wandb/, common editor folders) without changing what this project actually ignores in practice.Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit d0317db. Bugbot is set up for automated code reviews on this repo. Configure here.
