Quoted tags
tooling-drift now quotes a reviewed tag in tooling.yml when YAML would read it as something other than a string, such as Home Assistant frontend's
20261028.0. Before, it wrote the tag bare, which read back as a number and failed the file's own check, sopublishstopped at the first tag like that.v0.1.6Compare Source
Two-part versions
tooling-drift now reads versions with two parts as well as three, such as Home Assistant frontend's
20260930.5, so a tool withtagsorprereleases: truecan follow repositories that tag that way. A missing part counts as 0, so1.2sorts with1.2.0. A repository whose betas carry no suffix, as the frontend's don't, is followed to its newest tag withprereleases: true.v0.1.5Compare Source
Prereleases
A tool in tooling.yml can now set
prereleases: trueto follow release candidates and other prerelease tags, such asv4.5.0-rc2, which GitHub's latest release leaves out. It reads the repository's tags withgit ls-remote, astagsdoes. A prerelease counts as newer than the stable version before it and older than its own, so the stable release replaces it once tagged, and a repository can record a release candidate as reviewed without tooling-drift taking it for drift.Skill
