Summary

  • recognize single Bible verses and same-chapter ranges, including compact forms such as John3:16 and 1Cor13:4-7
  • show World English Bible text in an expanded result card and open the selected verse in eBible.org’s interactive study reader
  • add a bare bible command for opening the study reader’s book picker and passage field
  • use Midvash as the primary WEB provider with bible-api.com fallback
  • persist up to 256 previously viewed passages for offline reading
  • cancel stale requests, preserve explicit selection, and apply bounded retry cooldowns
  • document the feature with screenshots

Keyboard behavior

  • Enter: open the verse in the eBible study reader
  • Ctrl+Shift+C: copy the displayed verse

Validation

  • node --test tests/*.test.js — 115 tests passed
  • omarchy plugin validate plugin
  • qmllint plugin/services/BibleData.qml plugin/Backend.qml plugin/ui/LauncherWindow.qml plugin/ui/ResultRow.qml
  • verified both live WEB provider response schemas

Data and licensing

The World English Bible text is public domain. Verse queries are sent only after a valid local reference is recognized. Successful responses are cached in ~/.cache/oma-cast/bible.json; no credentials or telemetry are involved.
