Installation

Pre-built binary (recommended, no Go required)

Download the latest binary from GitHub Releases:

Installs to %LOCALAPPDATA%\wade, adds it to user PATH, runs setup --auto, and activates this PowerShell window. Then wade -i.

setup persists PATH for new shells. The current window still has the old PATH — activate it once:

Quick Start

wade -i          # Interactive setup — choose Node, Go, Python, or all
wade init -y     # Non-interactive: auto-config all three (China-friendly)
wade update      # Self-update wade to the latest version
wade -u          # Same as above (shortcut flag)

💡 wade checks for updates before every command (cached 24h) and prints a one-line hint when a newer version exists.

⚡ Two updates — don't mix them up:

wade -u / wade update	wade itself (the tool) — downloads the latest wade binary
wade node update	Node.js runtimes — refreshes installed Node versions

Project Node version pinning

Create a .wade-version file containing a Node version in a project directory:

echo 20.12.0 > .wade-version
wade node use

wade node use searches the current directory and its parents up to your home directory, using the nearest .wade-version. An explicit version, such as wade node use 22, takes precedence.
