Echo is a minimal Chrome extension for macOS. It adds context menu commands that open Apple links in the matching native Mac app:
- Open in App Store for App Store product links, including
itms-apps://links. - Open in Podcasts for Apple Podcasts show and episode links, including
podcasts://anditms-podcasts://links. - Open in Mac App for
t.coshort links on X that wrap either kind of link.
The extension extracts the numeric IDs and opens a storefront-independent native URL:

Safari already provides a native Open Link in App Store action, so Echo intentionally targets Chrome only.

npm testEcho requests the contextMenus permission and host access to t.co. When
you choose the command on a t.co link, Echo requests that short link without
cookies to read its destination. It never loads the destination page, and it
makes no other network requests. Echo does not inject scripts, read page
content, or collect data.
