Summary
Direct installs can check for, download and verify updates inside boxlore. Native compact/full-screen announcements keep actions visible while content scrolls. Release publishing prepares an announcement preview for approval instead of sending automatically.
Stack: depends on #1108. This PR contains only the app, sender and release integration changes above that tooling prerequisite. Merge the prerequisite first, then retarget this PR to master.
Motivation
Update downloads needed verification and recovery, notification actions needed consistent routing, and release announcements needed reviewed delivery with install-channel filtering.
What changed
Behavior & compatibility
Optional payload fields retain legacy defaults. Ordinary alerts and episode notifications still support both channels. Strict direct-only release sends use the new install-channel topic; older clients on the shared production topic are excluded until updated. A reviewed manual include-Play override remains available.
Background update checks never open a dialog, download or install. Installation requires an explicit action and Android confirmation. The isolated optimized test build uses only a loopback update feed and test announcement audience; shipping validation rejects its receiver and markers.

Listeners who installed from GitHub can download updates in boxlore and return from Android's install-permission screen without losing the prepared update. Long release notes remain readable and notification actions open their intended destination. Play installs continue using Google Play updates.

No production alerts, releases or admin deployment were performed. Initial update-feed publication and admin hosting remain separate rollout steps. The existing release-branch preparation flow remains. Browser previews follow the native visual specification; custom themes and Android-owned system bars/notifications require device verification. The final dialog system-bar contrast adjustment has JVM coverage; its final phone screenshot remains to be confirmed.
